Salinas - Baixa Grande

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Baixa Grande project is part of Lithium Ionic’s Salinas Group of properties, located in the northern section of Brazil’s Eastern Pegmatite Province. Acquired in 2023, these properties are highly prospective for spodumene-bearing pegmatites. Since initiating drilling in early 2023, the Company has delineated a significant lithium deposit, underscoring the strong geological potential of the region.

In August 2024,Pilbara Minerals announced the acquisition of Latin Resources and their Colina deposit, located directly west of the Baixa Grande deposit. This acquisition marked Pilbara’s first diversification into the Americas, underscoring the quality, quantity and global competitiveness of Brazil’s lithium deposits in this region.

Baixa Grande is rapidly becoming a key growth driver within Lithium Ionic’s portfolio, poised to play a pivotal role in the Company's long-term production strategy.

Mineral Resource Estimate

In April 2024, after one year of drilling, Lithium Ionic announced its maiden NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for the Baixa Grande deposit, showcasing its potential to play a critical role in the Company's long-term growth strategy. An updated mineral resource showcasing 32% growth was announced in January 2025.

Mineral Resource Highlights:

  • Measured and Indicated: 6.52Mt grading 1.11% Li₂O (180kt LCE)
  • Inferred: 12.90Mt grading 0.96% Li₂O (306kt LCE)

This MRE was based on 167 diamond drill holes (totaling 35,734 meters of drilling) conducted between May and September 2024, reflecting the rapid progress made in a relatively short timeframe.

Exploration and Drilling Program

Lithium Ionic continues exploration activities at Baixa Grande, including drilling geological mapping and soil sampling, with a focus on expanding the mineral resource base and advancing high-priority targets in order to fully realize the project’s potential.

Baixa Grande and the surrounding Salinas properties represent significant upside potential in the lithium-rich Eastern Pegmatite Province - more recently referred to as the “Lithium Valley”.
