Overview

Lithium Ionic’s properties span 14,182 hectares in Minas Gerais state, Brazil, within an emerging hard rock lithium-producing district coined the “Lithium Valley”, which contains 100% of the country’s official lithium reserves.

Since Lithium Ionic launched in May 2022, its portfolio of properties has increased +10-fold and the Company continues to assess and consolidate prospective lithium properties in this globally significant hard rock lithium district.

Its tenements are grouped into two main projects: The Itinga Lithium Project and the Salinas Lithium Project. In July 2023, both projects were granted priority status by the state of Minas Gerais regional government bodies, facilitating support and acceleration of approvals and licensing through the development process towards mine operation and production. The region is home to other notable lithium mines and projects, including the Companhia Brasileira de Lítio’s (CBL) Cachoeira mine, which has been producing lithium since 1993; Latin Resources’ Colina lithium deposit (45.2Mt grading 1.34% Li2O); and Sigma Lithium’s Grota do Cirilo project (P&P Reserves of 54.8Mt at 1.44% Li2O), which began production in April 2023.

 Quick Facts

Itinga Project Salinas Project
  • Drilling began in April 2022
  • Directly adjacent to CBL’s Cachoeira Mine (producing Li since 1993) and Sigma Lithium’s Grota do Cirilo project, in production since April 2023 with P&P Reserves of 54.8Mt at 1.44% Li2O.
  • In June 2023, Lithium Ionic reported a Maiden Mineral Resource Estimate for the BANDEIRA & OUTRO LADO deposits (based on 181 drill holes; 28,204 metres) of:
    • M&I: 7.57Mt grading 1.40% Li₂O (261,187t LCE)
    • Inferred: 11.86Mt grading 1.44% Li₂O (421,521t LCE)
  • 50,000m expansion and definition drilling program underway in H2 2023 (Itinga + Salinas)
  • PEA planned for completion in Q3 2023; Definitive Feasibility Study by year-end
  • EIA studies underway and expected to be complete within H2 2023
  • Applications are expected to be submitted in H2 2023, following the completion of the EIA for the respective environmental and social licenses.

  • Acquired in March 2023
  • ~100km north of the Itinga Project
  • Directly adjacent to Latin Resources’ Colina lithium deposit, which is reported to contain 45.2Mt grading 1.34% Li2O.
  • Initial 4,000-metre, 24-hole, drill program completed in 2022 returned highlights of:
    • 1.53% Li2O over 11.4m
    • 1.22% Li2O over 13.8m
    • 1.71% Li2O over 9.8m
    • 1.19% Li2O over 13.4m
  • Lithium Ionic initiated a 20,000m drill program at Salinas in May 2023 to test and delineate multiple outcropping spodumene-rich pegmatite bodies identified by surface sampling and drilling, with the goal of defining an NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate in the near-term.
